Violetta Cavalli-Sforza
Assistant Professor
Department of Computer Science

Welcome to my San Francisco State University home page.

Who am I? I'm a bit of a nomad. I was born in Milano, Italy. In 1971 my family decided to move to Stanford, CA where I stayed, more or less, until 1988. At that time, I decided to go explore the east and I lived in Pittsburgh, PA (neither east coast nor midwest) from 1988 to 2000. Then I moved back to California for a some time but couldn't stay away from Pittsburgh or Morocco for too long, so you'll have to guess where you will find me at any one time! (HINT: I'm currently on research leave at Carnegie Mellon University and may be spending some time in North Africa)
